Be specific. Not âI want to grow my business.â Thatâs too vague. More like:

Before you sit through another demo, ask these:
1. âWhat happens when it gets something wrong?â
AI makes mistakes. Good vendors have human handoff built in. Bad vendors pretend their AI is perfect.
Red flag: âOur AI is 99% accurateâ (everyone says this)
Green flag: âHereâs how we handle edge cases and escalationsâ
2. âCan I see it work with a company like mine?â
Case studies matter. But âwe work with Fortune 500 companiesâ doesnât help if youâre a 20-person business.
Red flag: Only giant company logos
Green flag: Specific examples from your industry and size
3. âWhatâs the real total cost?â
Some tools show you ÂŁ200/month and then charge extra for everything useful. Others are genuinely all-in.
Red flag: âCustom pricingâ on everything
Green flag: Clear pricing page with whatâs included
4. âHow long until I see results?â
If someone says â6-12 months,â run. Good AI tools show value in weeks, not years.
Red flag: Long implementation with lots of consulting
Green flag: âMost customers see results in 2-4 weeksâ
5. âWill this still work when you get acquired/go bust?â
Ask about data ownership. Can you export your data? What happens if they disappear?
Red flag: Vague answers about data portability

Mistake 1: Buying âThe Bestâ Instead of âThe Best for Youâ
Enterprise AI for a 10-person company is like buying a Ferrari for your weekly shop. Impressive, completely impractical.
The best AI is the one that solves YOUR specific problem at a price you can afford.
Mistake 2: Starting Too Big
âLetâs implement AI across all departments!â No. Start with one problem, one tool, one team.
Pilot it. Prove it works. Then expand.
